Hope Island

An aged care facility designed to provides accomodation for 120 residents. The building was designed in the Art Deco architectural style. It features four separate living and dining areas. The building is of the highest standard providing great amount of amenities such as physio, theatre, activity spaces and dedicated nursing amenities. The facility is located adjacent to medical centre and in it's design the link between the two has been provided for an ease of access. It has a one grand central courtyard that provides immediate access for the residents from their rooms or shared areas. Courtyard is fitted with a pavilion to provide shelter for all kinds of weather.

Building has an outdoor carpark for 52 vehicles. It is also fitted with an underground water tank and bio retention system.

Building is constructed out of Hebel panels and timber frame. Floors are made from concrete to fulfil horizontal fire separation. Metal roof is at the minimum degree to limit heights of parapets. Special design credits to Bruce Ratcliffe.
