Reservoir

Another great aged care project for Arcare. Site is located in Reservoir, northern suburb of Melbourne. It consists of two existing buildings, of which one was an aged care facility and the another served as a medical centre. The brief that we have received was to bring the old facility in line with the current five star standard of Arcare and to adopt the medical centre as part of the refurbished facility. We have come across many challenges on this site which we were able to overcome. The use of Juliet's balcony to some of the resident rooms allowed us to take the full advantage of the outlook over CT Barling Reserve, which otherwise would not be possible due to the sewer easement running at the back of the property. What once was an outdated facility has now been proudly added to our portfolio as a modern building. As part of the design we have linked the buildings together to create one. We have added another nursing unit with amenities, lounges, hair saloon, dining room, multipurpose room, library, cafe, secure courtyard and ample of office space for staff. We have started with the total number of resident rooms of 58 and were able to bring it up to 70. Residents get to enjoy great outlook from their balcony or direct access to secure courtyard.
